Serenity Book for an Adult Only Cruise Retreat Online

There was one lady who made herself at home with towels, iPad, drinks, books, and more. P&O Cruises is a British line that’s especially popular with — you guessed it — U.K.-based cruisers. P&O has a total of seven ships, five of which are family-friendly and two —  Aurora and Arcadia — that are only for adults. Additionally, per Clabbers, the entertainment offerings are best described as “atypical and engaging” and include pool parties, private karaoke studios, and drag queen cabaret. Of course, we’d also be remiss not to mention the onboard tattoo parlors, aptly called Squid Ink.

I never said or implied that the Costa by Carnival announcement happened in a week. Carnival Corporation probably started discussing this when the shutdown happened and figuring out which ships to scrap and which ships to redeploy. I believe with the sale of AIDAnova Carnival has shed something like 26 ships over the past few years. Several years ago, it was announced at a past guest party onboard that Carnival was planning a ship for those 18 and up.....guess that dropped off the drawing board. Consider cruising in the spring or fall if you want to avoid an overabundance of kids.

Dining Options

One important point is that you’re not supposed to reserve loungers or day beds on the Serenity Deck, or indeed anywhere else on a Carnival ship. That doesn’t mean that people won’t try it though – often people will get up early and try to reserve one with a towel before disappearing for a while. There aren’t set opening and closing times for the Serenity Deck, so you’ll be able to enjoy relaxing there for as long as you want.

The Top 3 Adults-Only Cruise Destinations

If the oversized lounge beds are not “your thing” then you may enjoy the area with regular sun-lounging chairs. When I was there it wasn’t too crowded but of course, that will vary with each cruise and on sea days it tends to be a lot more crowded. Our family recently spent time over Thanksgiving on the Carnival Victory to celebrate my sister’s 40th birthday and my dad’s 65th birthday. In the afternoon, it usually opens up more as people head to lunch and for a nap.

Most crew will take action to remove towels after around 40 minutes but don’t be afraid to prompt them – if you see a clamshell or day bed with a towel on it and nobody returns for a while, let the crew know and they’ll remove it for you. The age limit of the area is typically reflected in a more mature decor style too, using browns and teals instead of the bright colours elsewhere on the ship. After all, Carnival’s reputation is for fun, fun and more fun – and that doesn’t always lend itself to a peaceful and calm experience. The Carnival Serenity Adult-only Retreat is the perfect place to unwind when you need to escape from the crowds on a busy Carnival ship. If you are considering a Carnival Cruise and want to get away from the main crowd anytime during your cruise, consider heading up to the Serenity Retreat.

You get the combination of a relaxing setting at sea, gorgeous white-sand beaches, amazing entertainment and plenty of memorable spots to enjoy your first trip away as a married couple. After a fun night out with your sweetheart, you might want to refresh and rejuvenate the next day. Carnival’s Cloud 9 Spa Thermal Suites are zones dedicated to relaxing — no kids allowed!

Base fares on seven-ship cruise line Oceania include only Wi-Fi, nonalcoholic drinks and meals in main and specialty restaurants. Other inclusions can be added as packages and under the line’s all-inclusive O Life program, which includes shore excursions, airfare and transfers. The majority of all river cruise sailings have few, if any, children onboard. They also tend to have more inclusive fares that include beer, wine and soda at dinner, plus at least some shore excursions, along with Wi-Fi and bicycle use generally included. Carnival has long been known as a family-friendly cruise line, which meant lots of children running around. To help adults find some much-needed peace and quiet while on vacation, Carnival sectioned off a section of the ship to be adults only.

Caribbean Adults-Only Cruises

Onboard Oceania’s ships, you’ll find a wide array of adult-focused facilities and services, from a running track and artist loft to a culinary center, library and lecture rooms. Additionally, Oceania is one of the more affordable small-ship cruise lines that cater to adults. The key to finding adult-only cruises is looking for those sailings that lack family appeal. Ships without children facilities and cruises with a strong focus on culture, food and history will naturally have far fewer kids onboard. If you’re looking for a place to retreat to with your sweetheart, head to the Serenity Adult Only Retreat.

Adults Only Cruises On Carnival???

It gets lively in here and you’ll find yourself clapping your hands and tapping your feet to the music. It’s open from early evening to late at night, so pop in for a pre-dinner drink or stop by later for a martini and a chorus of rousing songs. They have had adults only ship (in any otherwise family friendly line) for years. As for Costa by Carnival brand  the simplest reason and probable one is that is that gives them the easiest  option for transferring them back to Costa if/ when the situation warrants.

Outside of the Mediterranean, Viking Alaska or Caribbean cruises are an easy choice for those seeking adults-only cruising during busy summer travel seasons to regions that are otherwise wildly popular with families. Instead of focusing on traveling families, Oceania Cruises caters almost exclusively to adult travelers. Infants and children are allowed, however, but there are restrictions and very few services. The minimum age on Oceania Cruises is 1 year, while passengers younger than 18 must be accompanied by and stay in the same stateroom as an adult. Although Silversea does accept children older than 6 months, there are little or no kids’ programs on board their ships.

The Serenity Area is also a great place to spend time in the evening with the soft music and mood lighting. They also offer much better ocean views because they don’t need the high glass partitions and instead have standard rails. Almost every Serenity Area has at least one hot tub, whirlpool, or jacuzzi. Alternatively, the Cloud 9 Spa Thermal Suite offers ultimate relaxation with its steam baths, dry heat rooms and other climate-controlled areas.

If you want to enjoy the Serenity when it is quiet, aim to head there mid-afternoon. To be clear, you need to be 21 years or older, since Carnival is an American cruise line. So if you’re a British family travelling and you have 18- to 20-year-olds in your group, they unfortunately won’t be able to make use of the space with you, as Carnival classes them as minors.
